Greetings Ucon Wildcats:
I hope you had a restful but adventurous summer vacation! Now we’re back and it’s time for learning!
We welcome several new staff this school year. Drop by and meet our new custodial manager, Cliff Kerbs; our new kitchen manager, Candy Rose; our new counselor, Keisha Richardson; and several new teachers: Elizabeth Hansen, special education; Parker Pyper, 4th grade; Janette Gambrel, 3rd grade; Katie Brown, 1st grade; and Crystal Virgin, 1st grade. We welcome them to the Ucon family.
I am pleased to share that our school achievement in Math and Language was strong in 2017-18. Kudos to our parents, teachers and students for their commitment to excellence in learning. Most (90%) of a student’s motivation and drive to learn is generated at home, so we greatly appreciate those parents who support our teachers and hold their children accountable. Students who read every night, complete their homework, and come to school prepared each day will enjoy significant learning advantages over students who don’t.
Let’s work together to provide a wonderful place where our students can blossom in a beautiful garden of love and learning!
I wish you a super school year.
