I work with the K-3 students and learning coaches at Bonneville Online School. I have been involved in online teaching at BOS for the past three years and absolutely love the atmosphere and people at this school. I grew up in Iona and graduated from Bonneville High School. I attended Ricks College, BYU Jerusalem and finished at ISU with my bachelor’s degree. I taught Kindergarten at Sunnyside Elementary in Idaho Falls for five years and then left to open my own dance studio. I live in Ammon with my four children and wonderful husband, Heath. I love to read, travel, garden, exercise, and spend time with my family. Teaching is a passion for me. I love to work with a child who is learning how to read and watch the world open up for them. It is a joy to help them break down the barriers that they may be struggling with. I love that we are able to build relationships with the students and families of our school. I am proud to be a BOS Lion!
Mrs. Watson was born in Idaho Falls and grew up in Iona. She lives in Ammon and has two step-daughters (14 and 12) and three sons (9, 6, and 5).. She attended high school at Bonneville and went on to study at RICKS College (now BYUI). After Ricks, she went to Lewis Clark State College in northern Idaho. She graduated in 1998 and started teaching that fall in Idaho Falls at Ethel Boyes Elementary. She taught there for 16 years, loving every minute of it. She taught 4th and 6th grade at Ethel Boyes. It was a tough decision to leave that school, but she decided she needed to work a little closer to home to be near her children and to be on the same school calendar. She took a job teaching 6th grade at Mountain Valley Elementary in Ammon. As much as she loved that school and the fantastic people that worked there, she really wanted to make the jump to online teaching. In 2015 she joined our team at Bonneville Online. In her words, “It was the best decision I’ve ever made. Online learning is in line with 21st century learners. It is the wave of the future, and I’m so excited to be a part of it. I work with a fantastic team with years of experience and knowledge. I love that we still get to build relationships with our students and their families. That was my favorite part about classroom teaching, and I’m so happy to have that with Bonneville Online. I look forward to meeting with the team weekly (okay, maybe daily) to discuss the needs and wants of our Lion families. This is a relationship based school, and that is our strength. I’m so happy to be a Bonneville Online Lion.”
